No. BallotView is an independent information platform and is not affiliated with any government authority, election commission, or political party.

04Which states and elections does BallotView cover?+
BallotView currently covers Kerala in full, with Tamil Nadu, Assam, and West Bengal in active development. More states are being added regularly as we grow.
Our focus is on state assembly elections. National (Lok Sabha) elections may be added in future.

The platform is updated regularly as new information becomes available from verified public sources. Data is updated continuously during active election periods; during off-seasons, updates happen when official disclosures are made or significant news is published about candidates and constituencies.
07How accurate is the information on BallotView?+
We make every effort to ensure accuracy by sourcing from credible, official, or reputable public records. BallotView makes every effort to provide accurate and up-to-date information. However, since the platform aggregates data from multiple public sources, source data may itself contain inaccuracies or be updated after we publish โ there may occasionally be errors or delays in updates.
If you spot something incorrect, please report it โ we will investigate and correct it promptly.
08What should I do if I find incorrect information?+
If you find any incorrect or outdated information, you can contact the BallotView team through the websiteโs contact page. The information will be reviewed and corrected if necessary.
09Can I download or use BallotView's data?+
BallotView is a read-only information platform. Bulk data downloads are not available through the interface. If you are a researcher, journalist, or developer with a specific use case, reach out to us โ we're open to discussing data partnerships.
Privacy & Voters
10Does BallotView allow users to vote online?+
No. BallotView does not conduct voting and does not provide online voting services. Voting can only be done through official election authorities.
11Can I check my voter registration on BallotView?+
BallotView does not maintain official voter registration records. Users should visit official election commission websites to verify voter registration details.
12Does BallotView store or display voter personal data?+
No. BallotView does not store, display, or aggregate individual voter information. We focus entirely on candidate and constituency level data โ not personal voter records.
13Does BallotView collect any data about me as a user?+
We may collect standard anonymous usage analytics (page visits, search queries) to improve the platform. We do not require account creation, and we do not sell or share any user data with third parties.
Candidates & Parties
14Does BallotView support any political party or candidate?+
No. BallotView is a neutral platform and does not support, promote, or endorse any political party or candidate.
15Is BallotView biased toward any political party?+
No. BallotView is strictly non-partisan. We present factual, publicly available information about all candidates equally โ regardless of their party, ideology, or affiliation. We do not endorse any candidate or party.
16Can candidates update their own profile on BallotView?+
Candidate profiles are created using publicly available information. In the future, candidates may be able to verify or update certain details through authorized access.
Information displayed is sourced from public records. Candidates may contact us to flag factual errors or provide additional verified public information. We do not remove profiles for candidates who have contested in public elections, as this information is of public interest.
17A candidate's information appears incorrect. What should I do?+
Please use the Report an Error link available on candidate profile pages, or write to us directly. We take accuracy seriously and will verify and correct any errors as quickly as possible.
18Why does a candidate's criminal record appear on their profile?+
Candidates are required to disclose criminal cases (charges pending, convictions, etc.) in their affidavits filed with the Election Commission of India. This is public information mandated by law, and BallotView displays it to help voters make informed decisions โ consistent with the Supreme Court's directions on electoral transparency.
19Why are some candidate profiles incomplete?+
Some candidate profiles may have limited information if detailed public data is not available at the time of publishing. The platform continuously updates profiles when new information becomes available.

Yes. BallotView provides details about constituencies including:

21Can I see past election results on BallotView?+

Not yet. BallotView is currently a mobile-responsive web platform accessible via any browser on your phone. A native app may be considered in a future phase.

30Who built BallotView?+
BallotView is an initiative by Jacob Indian, built with the mission of empowering Indian voters with easy access to election information. It is an independent, non-commercial project made with pride in India.

31How many voters are there in Kerala elections?+
The total number of voters changes every election cycle. Voter lists are maintained and updated by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer Kerala.

32How many constituencies are there in a State Legislative Assembly in India?+
Each State Legislative Assembly in India is divided into a number of constituencies based on population and administrative boundaries. Each constituency elects one Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) to represent the people of that area.
33How often are State Assembly elections held in India?+
Elections to State Legislative Assemblies are generally held every five years, unless the assembly is dissolved earlier. These elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India.
