However, since the platform aggregates data from multiple public sources, source data may itself contain inaccuracies or be updated after we publish — there may occasionally be errors or delays in updates.

Candidates are required to disclose criminal cases (charges pending, convictions, etc.) in their affidavits filed with the Election Commission of India. This is public information mandated by law, and BallotView displays it to help voters make informed decisions — consistent with the Supreme Court's directions on electoral transparency.
